Every two years the council meets at an international congress and during a general meeting elects an Executive that includes a President, a Secretary-Treasurer, the President-Elect, the Immediate Past-President, two Members at Large and an Editor.

Jan comes from Göteborg, Sweden and is currently Senior consultant in Hospital Dentistry and Director of Mun-H-Center, the National Orofacial Resource Center for Rare Disorders in Göteborg, Sweden.

Leda was born in Brazil and was in private practice in paediatric dentistry and special care patients from 1980-2003 in Sao Paulo –She has her specialy in Pediatric Dentistry from Showa University Japan , Masters in Preventive Dentistry from University of California at San Francisco - UCSF & Paulista University - Sao Paulo – Brazil. She also has her specialty in Radiology and Oral Diagnosis as well as Special Care Dentistry,. Dr Mugayar was an associate Professor in Faculty of Dentistry - Sao Paulo- Brazil ( 1981 to 2003). She currently is Head of Special Care Unit - Westmead Centre for Oral Health – Sydney Australia. She has numerous books and articles published in the area of special needs.

Roland was born in The Netherlands but graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1969 and moved to the UK in 1970 where he has lived ever since. He obtained his M.Sc. in Paediatric Dentistry from the Eastman Dental Institute of the University of London in 1976. He was a founding member of the British Society for Disability and Oral Health in 1975 and was on the Executive Committee for 10 years, and President in 1997. He was International Representative to the IADH from 1998-2004. He retired from clinical work in July 2004.
